ITS Arizona’s annual internship program provides on-the-job experience and mentoring for students aspiring to be a professional in the transportation and technology disciplines. This year, ITS Arizona and AECOM are co-sponsoring two interns: Tianhao Wu from University of California, Barkley, and Mayur Patil from Arizona State University, Tempe. Tianhao and Mayur will be working with AECOM Arizona Technology Team under the supervision and mentorship of Rumpa Dey, PE, PTOE, AECOM Technology Group Manager and David Lucas, ITS Arizona President & MCDOT Traffic Technology Branch Manager.

Tianhao holds B.S. in Civil Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, and currently pursuing M.S. in Systems Engineering with a focus on applying data sciences in civil engineering fields. Tianhao is passionate about smart mobilities and emerging technologies in transportation. As an autonomous vehicles enthusiast, his career goal is to popularize autonomous driving systems and build safer and more cost-efficient autonomous vehicle ecosystems. His life goal is to explore the unfamiliar and do what excites.

Mayur holds B.E. in Civil Engineering at Arizona state University, and currently pursuing M.S. in Transportation Systems Engineering. Mayur is passionate about the emergence of automated vehicles and their effects on the transportation engineering field. His focus includes traffic network modeling and simulation, connected automated vehicles, vehicle routing problems, dynamic traffic assignment, and traffic estimation and prediction.

ITS Arizona is pleased to support Tianhao and Mayur in their work with AECOM and wishes their continued success.
