The ITS Arizona 27th Annual Conference was held virtually on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. This was the first virtual online conference held by ITS Arizona and was attended by a diverse group of more than 200 professionals from ITS field. The presenters shared the opportunities and challenges that the Smart Mobility technologies are providing not only to increase the mobility and safety, but also the need for collaboration with other organizations and industries.
The conference began with a great keynote address by Shailen Bhatt, ITS America President and CEO. Mr. Bhatt shared ITS America’s vision for a better future transformed by intelligent mobility, one that is safer, greener, and smarter. During the breakout sessions, a total of 18 presentations were available to attendees, along with several opportunities to visit the virtual booths of our great sponsors and exhibitors and learn more about their latest products and services. During the conference opening, the Past Presidents’ Awards were presented, highlighting the excellent work being done in the region. In addition, the ITS Arizona Member of the Year was announced, the Graduate Student Paper Award was presented and the results of the elections for the 2021 ITS Arizona Board of Directors were announced.
Following on the success of the 2020 conference, we again had excellent attendance by both individuals and sponsors/exhibitors, and we look forward to continuing the trend at next year’s ITS Arizona 28th Annual Conference.
